1960's Fashion

1960’s Fashion era was exciting. It was colorful, fashion forward, some are laid back, relaxed and it was well-designed of styles.

The 1960’s Fashion style was in a lot of ways much of a departure from what had been the status quo. The first period of 60’s collections is similar to the 50’s styles. A-line dresses became a more acceptable and a flattering shift in dress style. They derived its name from “letter A” shape with the two slides angling out from the bust line to create a slightly wider hem.

For the ladies, chiffon was famous, light and sexy then pair that with wide sleeves that drifted with the slightest gust of wind creating and an “angel like style” which became so popular in the 60’s. Men of the 60's wore heels. Chelsea boots featured a slim, ankle-high top with a wedge block heel. The boot returned heels to the fashion of men's boots, which were last seen in the 19th century. The Cuban, a well-known boots for men, have heels which gave added height, but more importantly, it gave a flash of style unlike any other shoes or boots. Although it would be considered quite short by today's standards, the mop-top style was excruciatingly long and shaggy for the days when hair was neatly cropped above the ears. The beehive hair do was carefully shaped into a rolled cone up-do, and resembled an actual beehive. This do used excessive amounts of hairspray, combined with a special process called backcombing

It is so wonderful to explore the beauty of fashion and fame for every decade; “Fashionistas” are very creative and expressive with their personality. With this period, well-known for it's bright colors, leg revealing lengths, petticoats and girdles; chunky but sleek boots, hyper tailored designs were a must for the "in crowd" of the 1960’s Fashion.

Accessories Outfit

Accessories Outfit enhances the attractiveness of not only the apparel, but the person who wears the apparel as well. It transforms simple design clothing and makes it look more beautiful and fashionable.

Accessories Outfit helps designers to make an impressive visual of their product. These are necklaces, earrings, rings, belts, bags, scarves, and sometimes hats and shades as well.

Make up and hairstyles are also part of accessories outfit. Designers choose the accessories very well in order to match their clothing. They take into consideration the color, the size; and the materials to use that will fit their design.

One question I’ve often been asked is: how will you know what accessories will be good for your wardrobe? Given that I love to accessorize my outfits, I go for simple but classy styles. For example, my belt, could be of the same color as my shoes or my bag.

My accessories outfit style also uses contrast to achieve maximum effect. For instance, my necklace can be of a different color than that of my top. If I’m wearing a brown top, I can use a beige necklace; yet my shoes should match my trousers.

In general, I don’t recommend wearing too many accessories and different colors that don’t complement with one other. You’ll only end up over embellishing yourself, and that will work against you. The trick to making accessories outfit work for you is to be simple, yet elegant.

Obviously, you will have the final say as to what ultimately works for you and what doesn’t. My guidelines leave a lot of elbow room for experimentation and innovation, so feel free to play around with different combinations of clothing, accessories and colors..

Well, that’s all for today. Have fun building up your wardrobe, and do watch this space for more information in the near future on how to make the most of your Accessories Outfit.

Fashion Design Sketches

Fashion Design Sketches is a work of art, a talent that an artist can visualize the final outcome of a design simply by mixing, matching, adding accessories to a make a finish product.

Fashion Design Sketches
is a creative way of making a fashion idea into a final layout. Many designers make inquiries, do research, and plan carefully to make an excellent fashion collection. Designers make their collection based on latest trend or “what’s new in fashion” and for some, they rely on what their client’s desire for together with their idea to make their customer look stunning.

One of the questions I’ve read is “How to make a Fashion Design Sketch? For first time designers, you must know what kind of design you’re aiming for, is it an evening dress, a street wear, a gown for a particular occasion or a trendy top and bottom. When you have decided what you like, make a research in fashion magazines or fashion books and catalog to get some idea, also picture who will wear your design so you can draft it based on your model. When you are ready, get a clean white paper, start with the outline and then accessorize it.

Different designers work in different ways. When the designer is completely satisfied with the fit and outcome, mission accomplished. Carry on studying, researching and be updated with the trend. Developing your own style is the most important aspect as a designer because people will then recognize your work when they see it. A designer’s way to express their personality and creativeness is through his/her Fashion Design Sketches.
